These photo essays were created for "Sight and Sound" competitions at my local photo club...a challenge where we set our own photographs to music. Both essays won the Gordon McGowan Audio Visual Trophy.
I created the video below in 2016. The photos are abandoned buildings in Nova Scotia and I have used the song "Tightrope" by Lynne Hanson. The music has been used with her permission. Here is the video on YouTube if you want to see it in a bigger format.
The video below was created in 2012. Geof Turner of the G3s gave me permission to use their song. In his words:
The song "Farewell to Nova Scotia" is well known to Atlantic Canadians and has served as our unofficial anthem here in Nova Scotia. Our band, The G3's, decided to revise the song with regard to the lyrics. We hope that our version of this song is a positive and uplifting tune, that will entice visitors to our province, and encourage those who live here, to see Nova Scotia as a province with great potential. The title of the song is "There's No Place Like Nova Scotia". Here is the link to the video on YouTube if you want to see it in a bigger format.
